What's new, 21 October 2026: A customer who sends several messages before the bot's first reply no longer gets the opening sequence of a Chat Flow twice
WASync · Developers

How do I make the WhatsApp bot stop when a colleague replies?

It stops on its own: every flow has "Stop when a colleague replies" on by default, in Flow settings under Handover.

It stops by itself. Every flow has a switch, Stop when a colleague replies, in Flow settings → Handover, and it is on by default. The moment a person from your team writes to the customer, from WASync Chat, the WhatsApp tab on a CRM record or the Open Channel, the run ends and the customer talks to the colleague. No step is needed in the flow for this.

Two details worth knowing:

  • Messages typed on the phone or in WhatsApp Web do not stop the bot; they do not carry an operator identity.
  • Messages sent by the bot itself, by robots, by automations and the inactivity reminders never count as a colleague, so they never stop a run by mistake.

The companion switch in the same place, Run once per customer, prevents the flow from enrolling a contact it has already finished with.
